Doc Shutts

Announcer 1968 -1971

Doc Shutts worked at KATI as primarily a weekend and Part-time announcer beginning in about 1968, but later worked full-time in about 1970.  He primarily worked evenings and overnights and on the CY Strip Show.

Doc Shutts had a long history in broadcasting in Casper.  You could almost say it was in his blood from the time he was born.  When Doc was a baby his father Bill Shutts owned KVOC.  Doc says he was behind a microphone from the time he was four or five and would go to work with his dad from a very young age.

Doc did weekends board-shifts at KVOC before moving to KATI in about 1968.  He started his career on KATI as a school reporter for Dean Morgan Junior High School in 1968.  He later went to work at KATI as a weekend and part time announcer.  He eventually went to work full-time working overnights and evenings.

Later in his career, (2001 – 2016) he worked for KTWO and their 6-station cluster as a voice track announcer.  His full-time job then and currently is as an addiction counselor.
