Sounds of KATI

This tribute site is dedicated to remember the history, staff, sounds and listeners of this legendary Top-40 Wyoming radio station.

Sounds of KATI

For over three decades KATI programmed more than just music to its Mid-Wyoming listeners.  Looking for a lost dog on the “Dog Gone Report,” Welcoming a new Casper resident or one of thousands of newscasts presented over the years; KATI’s ownership mandated broadcasting in the public interest.  It was always a battle to keep the Top 40 feel of this popular radio station with all these features, but long-time owner, Pat Meenan, wanted KATI to be a community asset and not just a “Juke-Box” with a thermometer attached!

The Boys Club, Lions Club, Blue Envelope, Welcome Wagon, The Casper Troopers and hundreds more civic organizations were a beneficiaries to KATI’s dedication to its Casper listeners.  This selection of programs, newscasts, “Free For All”, Editorials are just a small example of KATI’s dedication for over 30-years.

NOT JUST A “JUKE-BOX” WITH A THERMOMETER ATTACHED!

(Pat Meenan, Owner 1956-1981)
