MEMORIES.....

Did you listen to KATI on your transistor radio under your pillow? We’d like to hear from you….
In KATI’s over quarter of a century on the air there were over three million records played, dozens of station promotions, a couple of hundred DJ’s that worked behind the microphone and MILLIONS OF MOMENTS IN OUR LISTENERS LIVES!  KATI was fun and light but it also contributed to some of the most important moments in your life.

Day or Night, KATI was always there serving the public and was always more than a time and temperature or a digital juke box. It was always in KATI’s DNA to provide special programs like a “Dog Gone” report or High School or Casper College Sports coverage.

KATI’s owners and staff were always active in the community, whether it was the Casper Troopers, Wyoming Legislature or one of our Casper Schools. KATI was there with it’s KATI School Reports on Sunday nights, the “KATI I-Spy” live news reports from Casper Mountain, Alcova Lake or the “CY Strip.” You heard the days newest artists and songs on the “Fab 14” Music Survey every Monday night.

MEMORIES….

That break up with a special friend, showing off a new car on the CY Strip, the Kennedy assassination, a special request or dedication with the DJ in the KATI Kaboose, KATI School Reports, KATI Quiz’s, Tanya the Christmas Reindeer, Lady Godiva contest or hearing the BEATLES first song on the radio….tell us!  We want to hear the moments you shared with KATI!

” Thanks for starting that web site! When I was in maybe 3rd or 4th grade -KATI and a battery-less “egg radio” from the old 88 cent store helped start my lifelong fascination with radio and electronics. I used to hide the radio under the covers and try to stay awake to hear the sign off song. Great memories! ”
Jason Boatman
” I sure like any pictures you guys can come up with. KATI was a huge part of my youth and I love seeing the pictures and reliving those days. ”
John D Marshall
” The early days of KATI was also the early days for my fathers new flower shoip> Bob Marshall Florist on Collins Drive. Pat Meenon and crew did a live remote from inside the shoip for its grand opening. Any memorabilia on that? ”
Linda Shultz
” Oh, the memories! Yes, I spent time at the KATI studios on McKinley and on KATI Lane. Exciting people, exciting times. ”

” I had no idea how many people would remember the CY Strip Show. Pat Meenan told me about the concept when he hired me in 1966. Along with Bill Sims. Again, Dave, thanks for keeping the KATI memories alive. ”

” So EXCITED to join! I LOVED this station when I lived in Casper from 1966 until 1972. I would always win 6 packs of Pepsi answering quizzes. ”
Mike Satterfield
” I won a 6 pack on May 10 1969, I still remember the date, the question was, what happened on this date 100 years ago today. it was the driving the golden stake for the railroad completion at promitory pt. Utah. My dad bought me my first new bike that same day at Gamble’s on Center St. ”
Karen Kennedy Abbott
” Looked forward every weekend to KATI Classic Weekend! What a great station!!! ”

” Great page! Brings back alot of memories. I did the “school report” on Sunday Nights for KW in ’77 on KATI. The bug bit and by ’78 I was working there. What a great ride the business has been. ”
Andy Jones
” There is nothing better than an old radio host to reminisce with. I spent 18 plus years either in the booth playing music the old fashioned way, play-by-play, news/sports director at several Wyoming places. Thsnk you for the warm welcome. I am honored. ”
