Gene Wallace was an announcer & Music Director @ KATI from 1971-1976. While Gene worked at KATI, he was primarily the evening or afternoon announcer. Wallace was also the regular host of the K-Mart Show that ran for years on Sundays from 12:30 to 4pm.
During much of his time at KATI, Gene was always pursuing a degree at Casper College as a full-time student. Gene and his wife Connie left Casper in 1975 and headed to Montana State University for college. While at MSU, Gene earned several advanced degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, and Economics. During his time at MSU, he also worked both full and part time at KBMN-AM, Bozeman.
Gene and Connie left Bozeman for Oklahoma in 1980 to work for a major oil company. They both were transferred to Houston where Gene earned yet another advanced degree, this time a night school Law Degree that took him nearly five years.
