Neal Shambaugh
Shambaugh made the move to Casper and was hired by Jock Blaney who had worked with him years earlier at KIML. Initially, Shambaugh was hired to host the night time CY Strip Show from Seven to Midnight. He later moved to Six to Ten in the evening. He was also an excellent production person and did extensive commercial production during his time at KATI.
Shambaugh left KATI and went back to KIML to be a Combo-man, he did mornings there and sold advertising for several years. He left KIML in the 1980’s, with partners, he started his own FM station (KOAL-FM). The group eventually sold that station to his former employer (KIML) and he started a production company that produced Safety & Training materials for several of the mining companies in the surrounding area.
Neal left Wyoming to work for Virginia Tech as a producer of audio and video support pieces for their extension service. While he was there he also took advantage of free schooling where he got several degrees. He later moved on to the University of West Virginia where he taught and became a full professor. Neil retired from the school after 22 years in 2017.
He is now semi retired, lives in Virginia with his wife, also a Professor.
